Ugarte in Casablanca
4. Personal postbox
Police report [fragment]:
“Found on Ugarte’s person were several keys, two of which could be identified as opening a postbox in the Poste Centrale, and another on the Rue de l’Aviation Française. All were found empty, presumably emptied either by Ugarte himself or an accomplice/s. The others are suspected to be bank safes, but have not been confirmed yet. Of note is that we found no keys to apartments, hotelrooms, houses, or any other place Ugarte may have resided at.
Other items: A Russian passport, a Spanish passport, a Liberian passport, a handwritten note from the Liberian consul addressed to captain Renault attesting the legality of this document, and a pistol, presumed to have killed the couriers.”
